“That Stamping Ground / Scott County might know Christ”
That includes the five great purposes of the church which are:
To “Love God with all your heart” = Worship
To “Love your neighbor as yourself” = Ministry
To “Go…. make disciples” = Evangelism
To “Baptize believers” = Bring into the Fellowship
To “Teach them…all things” = Discipleship
A Note from Our Pastor
I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to Cedar Grove Baptist Church. It is our desire to lead our community and world to faith in Christ and prepare each individual to serve others in ways that would glorify God and bring people to trust in Christ.
Our church is involved with missions at home and around the world through the various programs in our church. We have taken several mission trips to Lynch, KY where we reached out to the community with many different projects for the families there.
Our home mission outreach includes UPWARD Basketball and Cheerleading. We at present are the home of Scott County Upward. It is our desire to provide a fun, learning time of the sport and at the same time bring children to faith in Christ through devotions and Scripture memorization during their practice time and their parents and guests during half time devotions on game days.
We are also involved with missions in Africa and India through Global Mission Fellowship supporting mission outreach and hands on building programs.
Cedar Grove is a family friendly church and we seek to meet the needs of families, young and old. We are excited to offer many opportunities for families in Sunday School classes, Junior and Little Church services and worship services, with nursery provided.
We also have Wednesday evening classes for our young people: Hands on Bible (2yrs – K); Children in Action (1st & 2nd grade); and Worship Arts Ministry or WAM (3rd – 6th grade). Our youth group meets on Wednesday evenings as well. There is a Men’s and Woman’s Bible study class that meet separate as well on Wednesday nights.
We would love to have you worship with us. If you have any questions about our church please feel free to contact me by calling the church or coming to visit anytime.
We pray God’s riches blessing upon you as you seek to find God’s place of service in His Kingdom work.
Darrell Taylor, Pastor
“Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. In the same way, their wives are to be women worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.” – 1 Timothy 3:8-12
